Robert Rankin is Founder of Pacific Point Partners, a global investment firm, and joined Afiniti’s Advisory Board in 2017.
Robert’s career in banking and finance spans more than 30 years and has been based in Hong Kong, Sydney and London.
He served as Co-Global Head of Investment Banking (Corporate Banking & Securities) for Deutsche Bank (DB) from 2012-2015, responsible for DB’s global investment banking business serving institutional, corporate and sovereign clients from 40 countries. From 2009-2012, he was DB’s CEO of Asia-Pacific (ex-Japan), responsible for the bank’s management and strategic direction in the region. He was DB’s first Asia-based member of their Group Executive Committee.
Prior to DB, Robert was Head of Investment Banking Asia-Pacific for UBS AG and was a member of the UBS Investment Bank Board, as well as heading up the Technology, Media and Telecoms investment banking franchise. He also formerly served as a Director of Hua Xia Bank Limited, CEO of Australia’s Consolidated Press Holdings (CPH) and Chairman of Crown Resorts Limited.
Robert maintains active board and/or advisory roles for various global companies including Sargon Capital (an Asia-Pacific based pensions and savings provider) and fund management firms AIM (Australia) and Black Crane Capital (Hong Kong). Robert holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Law from the University of Sydney.
