Ali J. Siddiqui
Ali J. Siddiqui was Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States until December 2018 and previously served as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan with the status of Minister of State.
Prior to his term in government, he founded and chaired the board of JS Bank, which is Pakistan’s fastest growing banking institution, and JS Private Equity Management which is Pakistan’s largest domestic private equity asset management firm. Previously, he was based in Hong Kong and was a Director with Crosby Capital, an Asian private equity asset management firm, where Mr. Siddiqui and his colleagues were responsible for investing into and growing of some of Asia’s largest technology companies.
In addition to founding JS Bank, Mr. Siddiqui built several successful businesses in partnership with other entrepreneurs, including Airblue, which is Pakistan’s largest Airline, and AGSI, which is the second largest steel producer in the United Arab Emirates.
He received his BA in Economics from Cornell University and was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
